Create A Country

t

Black Team students are creating and presenting their own Countries in social studies this week. Their countries are to be based on a theme that interests them. We have seen many, many candy related maps this week! Each country is to include 10 of the geographical terms that we have been studying. There will be a quiz covering all of the geography terms on pages R46--R47 in their textbooks on Tuesday, September 1.

Team Building

We had a great time out in the hot sun on Friday! We played several team building games, had a picnic lunch, and ran obstacle courses.

First Day of School

We had a fantastic first day of school at Trimpe. In the morning, during encore classes, students were given a tour of the building and learned about procedures they are to follow here at school. We spent some time practicing opening lockers, visiting with our administrators, and talking about how technology can help us transform our characters. We are looking forward to a great year!

Welcome to The Black Team!

The 2009-2010 school year is here! What happened to summer? The Black Team teachers are Mrs. Bohnenstiehl (Language Arts and Social Studies), Mrs. Wrenn (Science and Social Studies), Mrs. Bauerle (Special Education) and Ms. Nikkel (Math and Social Studies). We are all looking forward to getting to know you as the school year progresses. We will use this blog as a way to communicate with both parents/guardians and students. We want you to know about the things your children are learning and doing here at Trimpe. Please check often for news of upcoming events!

Black Team Discipline Policy

The Black Team uses a ticket system. There are a variety of circumstances under which you may be asked to fill out a ticket. A different number of tickets will be allowed each quarter. Some of the situations where you will pull a ticket include:
• Tardiness (3rd hour through advisory)
• Chewing gum
• Arriving to class unprepared
• Not completing homework
• Disrupting class
• Asking to leave class to take care of personal business

Each student will be given a register at the beginning of each quarter to keep track of all the tickets you have filled out. Midway through the quarter, along with Progress Reports, you will need to get your ticket register signed by a parent or guardian.

If you have used all of your tickets, you are then ineligible for the quarterly incentive. Each additional ticket pulled will result in a detention to be served on the following school day. If the following school day is a Friday, the detention will be assigned for Monday. If you do not stay for an assigned detention, it will double. Once 5 detentions have been accumulated, you will be referred to the office for further discipline. In most cases, you will then assigned a Saturday school to “clear” detentions.
